Chihuahuas Explode in Third to Outdistance New Orleans

The El Paso Chihuahuas tied a season high for runs in an inning Thursday by scoring seven times in the third inning of their 11-4 win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes. El Paso has won the first two games of the homestand and eight of its last 10 games overall.

Auston Bousfield went 3-for-5 with three doubles to tie a Chihuahuas record for doubles in a game. Franmil Reyes went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the first inning. Shane Peterson hit a three-run homer as well, his second longball in as many games.

The Chihuahuas' pitching staff has allowed only 15 runs in their last seven games. El Paso is 11 games over .500 for the first time this season. The Chihuahuas have sealed a series win, their third series win in the last four tries.
