Chiefs Fall in a Shootout

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs surrendered a two goal lead in the 3rd period to go on to fall in a shootout 3-2, to the Cincinnati Cyclones Friday night at the War Memorial. The Chiefs remain unbeaten in their last four games (3-0-1).

The Chiefs lead 2-0 in the 3rd period with 2nd period goals by Jeff Sullivan and Jim Leger, but Cincinnati would storm back with a Chris Wismer goal and a power play goal by Ryan Gaucher to tie up the game 2-2. The Cyclones would win the shootout by a score of 3-1.

Chiefs goaltender Peter Aubry made 39 saves in the game while Cyclones Japanese goaltender Yutaka Fukufugi made 30 saves in his North American debut.

The Chiefs are now 20-24-8 on the season, while Cincinnati is 24-18-4.

The Chiefs are back on War Memorial ice tomorrow night, when they host the Wheeling Nailers at 7: 30 p.m. Remember the Chiefs 1000th ECHL game will be played at home on February 22nd vs. Toledo.
