Dayton Bombers News Release
The Dayton Bombers received points from 14 different players and scored four goals in the third period en route to a 6-4 victory over the Lexington Men O'War during Mardi Gras Night at the Ervin J. Nutter Center.
Trailing 3-2 entering the third period, the Bombers scored twice in a 3:06 span to grab a 4-3 lead. Blair Stayzer stuffed a puck into the net past Dan Murphy on a wraparound attempt at 1:53 for his first goal as a Dayton Bomber. Ryan Vince, one of six different Bombers' goal scorers, notched his 17th tally of the season at 4:59 when his attempted centering pass to Chris M. Thompson caromed off a Lexington defender and past Murphy. Fraser Clair sent a feed from Ben Storey past Bombers goalie Jayme Platt to tie the game (4-4) at 7:37, but Brian Cummings answered 1:07 later when he fought through a check to put Yann Joseph's pass past Murphy. Chris M. Thompson scored into an empty net with four seconds remaining in regulation.
Jason Deskins scored his second goal in as many games in the first period and Fred Slukynsky provided a second period conversion for the Bombers. Jayme Platt stopped 33 shots for the Bombers and recorded an assist on Chris M. Thompson's empty net goal. Mark Smith, Van Burgess, Ryan Fultz, and Fraser Clair had goals for the Men O'War.
