Checkers, CRVA to Hold Open Skate at Bojangles' Coliseum

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers, in conjunction with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, today announced that they will hold an open skate at Bojangles' Coliseum on Wednesday, April 8, from 6-9 p.m.

The cost for those wishing to skate will be $5 for those bringing their own skates and $7 for those needing to rent skates while limited supplies last. Admission to the building is free, and all in attendance will receive raffle tickets for various Checkers prizes. Concessions and merchandise will be available for purchase.

A group of Checkers players, senior members of the team's staff and Tom Murray, chief executive officer of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, will be available for interviews. Checkers players, who will also be skating, will meet fans and sign autographs from 6-7 p.m.

The Checkers return to Bojangles' Coliseum for their 2015-16 home opener on Saturday, Nov. 7. Season tickets are available now at a reduced rate by calling (704) 342-4423 or visiting gocheckers.com.
