Checkers & Chubby To Visit Greer Academy

(Charlotte, NC - Saturday, November 1, 2003) - Five Checkers players and their colorful mascot, Chubby, will be at Grier Academy this coming Monday morning, November 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon to meet and have lunch with the elementary students from first to fifth grade at the school. The visit is in conjunction with Grier Academy's fundraising efforts to add several school programs at the new school. Along with Chubby, Checkers players Ryan Cuthbert, Brandon Cullen, Marc St. Jean, Dustin Kingston and Steve MacIntyre will be appearing at the school this Monday. Grier Academy is located at 8330 Grier Road, just off East WT Harris Blvd. - Charlotte, NC 28215.
"Grier Academy is selling tickets to the Checkers - Greenville Grrrowl game at Cricket Arena on Friday, November 21 to raise funds for several new programs," commented Checkers Director of Ticket Sales, Shannon Smith. "We have a new and exciting fundraising program to benefit non-profit organizations that has been implemented by our new President, Jeff Longo. This program has been extremely successful in other markets in the past, and the Checkers want to help non-profits in our area to raise funds for the things that are important to them when other monies are lacking."

CHECKERS TICKETS: All regular season individual game tickets are on sale, and may be purchased at the Cricket Arena Box Office, the Charlotte Coliseum Box Office, and all Ticketmaster locations. Tickets may also be purchased by phone by using a credit card and calling Ticketmaster at (704) 922-6500, and through the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com.
Individual game tickets for the 2003-04 season are priced at $7.00 for balcony seats, $10.00 for end mezzanine seats, $12.00 for side mezzanine seats, $15.00 for circle seats, and $20.00 for box seats.
