Goaltender Bryzgalov Named Fifth Third Bank Mighty Ducks Player of the Month for October

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov, who posted three victories, a 2.34 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and one shutout in six games, has been named Fifth Third Bank Mighty Ducks Player of the Month for October.

Bryzgalov, who earned Fifth Third Bank Mighty Ducks Player of the Month honors for the second time in his career, recorded his first shutout of the season and sixth of his career in a 3-0 victory against the Toronto Roadrunners October 11, turned aside 27 of 28 shots in a 4-1 victory over the Grand Rapids Griffins October 25 and made 27 saves in a 3-2 road win against the Chicago Wolves October 29. In addition, he stopped a season-high 37 shots in a 5-3 loss against the Milwaukee Admirals October 23.

Bryzgalov, a second-round pick by Anaheim in 2000, will be presented with a plaque from Fifth Third Bank during an on-ice ceremony prior to an upcoming game.
