Ducks rally to tie Crunch

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Michael Holmqvist scored a power play goal with 4:00 left in the third period to lift the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 2-2 tie with the Syracuse Crunch Saturday at Cincinnati Gardens.

Chris Armstrong also scored and Tony Martensson and Mike Mottau each chipped in with a pair of assists for Cincinnati, which has earned points in four of its last five games (2-1-2-0).

Holmqvist, a first-round pick by Anaheim in 1997, extended his point streak to six games with his third goal in as many games.

Tim Jackman and Mike Pandolfo scored for Syracuse, which is winless in its last four (0-3-1-0).

Karl Goehring stopped 30 shots for Syracuse, while Eddy Ferhi pushed aside 27 shots for Cincinnati.

The Ducks next play Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Grand Rapids.
