
Chasers Blank Sounds for 1st Road Win, 5-0

NASHVILLE, TN - Ryan O'Hearn drove in 3 runs, Scott Barlow enjoyed a strong outing, and the Storm Chasers earned their first road victory in 2018 with a 5-0 blanking of the Nashville Sounds on Friday night at First Tennessee Park.
The Chasers struck first in the top of the 4th against Sounds starter Eric Jokisch. Hunter Dozier began the rally with a 1-out single, and Frank Schwindel followed with an RBI triple. Ryan O'Hearn grounded to shortstop to bring Schwindel home, and Omaha grabbed a 2-0 lead.
They added 3 more in the top of the 6th to take contraol of the game. After the first 2 batters were retired, Hunter Dozier and Frank Schwindel drew walks, setting the table for Ryan O'Hearn. O'Hearn delivered a 2-run triple to right field for his 2nd and 3rd RBIs of the night, and Nick Dini doubled to center to score O'Hearn, stretching the Chasers lead to 5-0.
All of those runs were charged to Jokisch (L, 0-2). The 5 runs came on 6 hits, with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.
Scott Barlow (W, 1-0), meanwhile, pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, scattering 5 hits. He struck out 5 and walked 2.
Eric Stout followed Barlow with 2 innings of scoreless relief, retiring 6 batters in a row. Mike Broadway finished the 8th inning with a strikeout, and finished the ballgame with a scoreless 9th, completing the Chasers' first combined shutout of 2018.
The Storm Chasers (2-6) continue their road trip in Nashville on Saturday night at 6:35 PM Central Time. RHP Andres Machado (0-0, 6.00) will pitch for Omaha, while LHP Brett Anderson (0-1, 0.00) takes the ball for the Sounds.
