Atlanta United FC News Release
ATLANTA - Atlanta United today announced that Chief Business Officer Catie Griggs has decided to leave the club next month to spend time with her family and explore future opportunities. Griggs has overseen all business functions for the team since 2017, guiding the club to record-breaking results in a number of key business areas.
"Catie has done a great job for Atlanta United and her contributions to many foundational elements of the club will continue to make us successful well into the future," said Darren Eales, President and CEO of Atlanta United. "Many of the records we've set for attendance and much of our off-pitch success were thanks in large part to Catie's focus, work ethic and passion for our team and her colleagues. She leaves with our very best wishes for her future and gratitude for a job well done."
During her time with the club, Griggs played a key role in the team's launch in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, was the club's league liaison in hosting the Major League Soccer All-Star Game in 2018, spearheaded Atlanta United's MLS championship celebration in 2018 and led the operational launch of Atlanta United 2.
"The incredible success of Atlanta United since its inception has been directly attributable to its people and Catie has been a big part of that," said AMBSE CEO Steve Cannon. "She has been a tireless and passionate leader in the operation of our club from almost the beginning and we're very grateful to her for playing such an important role in establishing Atlanta United as a core part of our community and marquee team in MLS."
"I've truly enjoyed my time serving as a senior leader for one of the most innovative sport brands in the industry," said Griggs. "I am proud of the work we've done in continuing to set the bar not only in Atlanta but globally as well. My family and I look forward to cheering on the team as fans for life."
