August 8, 2008 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce several roster moves today. Catchers C.J. Bressoud and Alberto Rosario have been assigned to the Kernels from Rancho Cucamonga; Chris Rosenbaum has been activated from the disabled list at Rancho and assigned to Cedar Rapids; and Braulio Pardo and Alex Silversmith have been assigned to Orem.
Pardo played in 15 games for the Kernels with a .140 BA and 5 RBI. Silversmith played in 13 games, batting .182 with 2 RBI.
Rosario was signed by the Angels as a non-drafted free agent on January 19, 2005 and spent last season with Tempe, posting a .301 BA with a HR and 9 RBI in 19 games. The native of El Fondo, DR played in 42 games with the Quakes, batting .218 with 14 RBI.
Bressoud played in three games with the Kernels before being assigned to Rancho Cucamonga on June 19. In 15 games with the Quakes, he was batting .161 with 6 RBI.
Rosenbaum played one game at Rancho after joining the Quakes on July 4 before being injured. In 26 games with the Kernels, he was batting .256 with 8 RBI and had been on a rehab assignment with the Tempe Angels prior to rejoining the Kernels.
Bressoud, Rosario and Rosenbaum will arrive in Cedar Rapids and be available for Friday's 7 pm game with the Quad Cities River Bandits. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 players with four players currently on the disabled list.
The Kernels conclude a 10-game, 11-day home stand tonight against Quad Cities. Game time is 7 pm with the gates opening at 6 pm. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com
