Wheeling Nailers News Release

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers, the 'AA' affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, have announced that defenseman Reid Cashman has been re-assigned to the team from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Cashman, 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, began the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton before being assigned to the Nailers on Nov. 20, 2008. He went on to play 14 games with the Nailers where he scored three goals with 10 assists (13 points).

Cashman was re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Dec. 27, 2008, where he has played since. Cashman should aide a Nailers squad that has been depleted by call-ups, reassignments and injuries. He is expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Nailers take on the Trenton Devils at 7:30 p.m.

Veteran forward Kelly Miller is also expected to be back with the Nailers tonight. Miller has been out of the lineup with an injury since Wheeling defeated Dayton 3-2 on Feb. 6.

Wheeling starts a 4-game road trip tonight against Trenton. The Nailers then travel to Reading tomorrow night for a 7:05 p.m. contest before playing Trenton again on Sunday at 6 p.m. and on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Nailers' next home stand is Feb. 27-28 when they host Dayton and Trenton, respectively. The Feb. 27 game is Friday Family Four Pack Night, where families receive four tickets, four sodas, four hotdogs and one large popcorn for just $44. In addition, a collector poster will be given away to the first 2,500 fans in attendance. A Coal Miner Spike Bobble Head will be given away to the first 2,500 fans in attendance at the Feb. 28 game.
