
Cyclones Acquire Brett Beauchamp From Johnstown

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones announced today that they have acquired defenseman Brett Beauchamp from Johnstown in exchange for considerations. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Beauchamp, 23, is in his first professional season, having appeared in 24 games and collected three assists with nine penalty minutes. He was signed by the Chiefs on December 15 after getting an opportunity to join the team he tried out for during the preseason. He had two assists against Wheeling on February 15.
The six-foot-two, 220 pounder from Montreal, PQ played the last two seasons at Concordia University. At Concordia, Brett played in 33 games and netted ten goals and eight assists for 18 points and 55 penalty minutes. During 2007-08, he led all defensemen at Concordia with nine goals and six assists for 15 points.
Beauchamp is in transit to Cincinnati and may play in tonight's game against the Dayton Bombers. Faceoff is set for 7:30pm.
