Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
SHREVEPORT, LA -The Shreveport-Bossier Captains, presented by U-Auto Pull-It Auto Parts, and Eagle Distributing announced today they have partnered for Budweiser's Good Sport program that promotes responsible consumption of alcohol.
During Thursday's game against the Fort Worth Cats, fans who agree to be a Designated Driver will have the opportunity to sign up for free prizes. Eagle Distributing will also be distributing literature to fans designed to encourage them to continue to act responsibly and respect others while attending home games. The program, called Budweiser's Good Sport, encourages maintaining a fan-friendly atmosphere.
"Part of our ongoing commitment to the community is to promote responsible behavior when it comes to drinking," President of Eagle Distributing of Shreveport Brad Nichols said. "Budweiser's Good Sport is a program that ensures fans attending Captains' games will have a good time, but not at the expense of others."
Thursday's contest coincides with the Captains' Thirsty Thursday promotion that involves special pricing on specific alcoholic beverages and for Captains' general manager Chet Carey the Budweiser awareness program is a perfect fit. "The Captains certainly encourage our fans to enjoy their visit to the ballpark", Carey said. "Budweiser's Good Sport and Designated Driver programs are important to creating awareness and knowledge that will continue to make Captains games an enjoyable experience for all the fans."
The Captains are currently enjoying a scheduled off-day before returning to play tomorrow night against the Fort Worth Cats to begin a three-game series that concludes on Thursday, August 11. After this home stand the Captains travel north to Gary Indiana for a six-game series against the Gary South Shore RailCats before returning home on Friday, August 19 to finish out the last home stand of the regular season. This home stand includes eight games against Fort Worth and Grand Prairie.
Captains return home on Friday, July 1. Single-game tickets are available for purchase in-person or over the phone by visiting the Captains Executive Offices at 2901 Pershing Boulevard at Fair Grounds Field or by calling (318) 636-5555. VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express accepted.
