Brito, Moore Named Players Of The Week

DURHAM, NC - The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has named El Paso Diablos INF Javier Brito and Sioux Falls Pheasants RHP Ben Moore as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

In six games, Brito batted .440 with one home run and nine runs batted in. He collected 11 hits in 25 at-bats, plated 10 runs and walked three times. Brito also had an on-base percentage of .483 and a slugging percentage of .840. The Puerto La Cruz, VZ resident is batting .349 with four home runs and 27 RBIs in 33 games with the Diablos.

Moore went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in two starts this past week. In 14 innings pitched, he allowed four earned runs on 10 hits with three walks and 20 strikeouts. The St. Croix Falls, WI resident fanned 14 batters in the 9-6 win over the St. Paul Saints Tuesday. On the season, Moore is 12-2 with a 2.41 ERA in 119 2/3 innings pitched. He leads the American Association in innings pitched, strikeouts (115) and ERA and tied for first in wins. This is the second Player of the Week award for Moore (week ending July 24) this season.
