
Capitals Assign Brian Fahey to Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have assigned defenseman Brian Fahey to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today. Fahey had been recalled yesterday but did not play in last night's win at the New York Islanders.
Fahey, 29, has played seven games for the Capitals this season, recording one assist and two penalty minutes. The 6'1", 215-pound native of Des Plaines, Ill., has recorded 16 points (2 goals, 14 assists) in 31 games for the Bears this season.
Fahey, who made his NHL debut on Oct. 16 at Nashville and wears No. 44 for the Capitals, was signed as a free agent July 7, 2010.
