'Canes Reassign Fleury to Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned defenseman Haydn Fleury to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Fleury, 22, has tallied one assist in 17 NHL games with Carolina and five points (2g, 3a) in 22 AHL games with Charlotte this season. The 6'3", 208-pound defenseman has appeared in 84 career NHL games, recording nine assists. In 96 career AHL games, Fleury has posted 34 points (11g, 23a). The Carlyle, Sask., native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round, seventh overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
