C Brett Austin placed on the DL

C Brett Austin was placed on Charlotte's disabled list today (retroactive to April 23). The Charlotte, NC native appeared in two games with the Knights and went 1-for-5 at the plate. LHP Matt Tomshaw, who was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent on December 15, 2017, was promoted to Charlotte from Double-A Birmingham on Monday, April 23. Today, Tomshaw was added to the team's active roster, which is now set at 25 players. He posted a 0-1 mark with a 3.52 ERA in three starts for the Barons this season (15.1 IP).
