Bunz Heading to Oklahoma City

Wichita, KS (Feb. 10th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced this morning that goaltender Tyler Bunz has been reassigned to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League by the Edmonton Oilers (NHL).

This will be his third call-up of the season. The St. Albert, Alberta native has appeared in 17 games this season, going 6-10-0-1 with a goals against average of 2.97 and save percentage of .890. Bunz, a fifth round draft pick (#121 overall) of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, is tied for sixth in the ECHL with two shutouts.

Wichita begins a three-in-three starting on Friday night against Missouri at 7:05 p.m. Go Red for Women's Heart Health this Friday as the Thunder honor Go Red Month. Fans can pick up free upper level ticket vouchers at all Kwik Shop locations and All Things BBQ, while supplies last. The team will be wearing special uniforms and auctioned off after the game to help benefit the American Heart Association. Sunday is Credit Union of America Buy-In Night.
