South Carolina's DeBlois Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - South Carolina Stingrays' forward Derek DeBlois is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 2-8.
DeBlois scored four goals, added two assists and was a +6 in a pair of games last week.
The 23-year-old tallied a pair of assists in a 7-1 win at Greenville on Saturday then scored four goals - part of his first professional hat trick - in a 6-3 victory against Gwinnett on Sunday.
A native of Narragansett, R.I., DeBlois has 22 points (9g-13a) in 40 games with the Stingrays this season.
Prior to turning pro, DeBlois played four seasons at the University of Michigan where he recorded 61 points (24g-37a) in 141 career games.
On behalf of Derek DeBlois, a case of pucks will be donated to a South Carolina youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
