Bunz Called up to Oklahoma City

Wichita, KS (Dec. 17th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced this morning that goaltender Tyler Bunz has been reassigned to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League by the Edmonton Oilers (NHL).

This is the second call-up of the season for the 22-year old netminder. Bunz is expected to join the Barons on their current road trip in Charlotte. He has played in six games for the Barons over the last two seasons and did not make an appearance during his first go-around earlier this year. Bunz ranks seventh in goals against average in the ECHL (2.39) and has a save percentage of .901. The St. Albert, Alberta native is tied for first overall in the league in shutouts with two.

Wichita heads out of town for the next two games starting tonight against the Tulsa Oilers at 7:00 p.m. The Thunder will travel to Allen for the first time this season on Friday, December 19th before returning home to host the Rapid City Rush on Sunday, December 21st. Bring your skates and join the players for a post-game skate after Sunday's tilt with the Rush.
