CYCLONES ORNAMENT NIGHT
Tonight's Matchup: For the second time in less than a week, the Cyclones will meet the Greenville Road Warriors in hopes of exacting revenge as they open a three-game homestand at U.S. Bank Arena. The Cyclones heavily outplayed and outshot the Road Warriors last Thursday, but ultimately fell by a 3-2 final score - running their all-time record against Greenville to 7-7-0-2.
Tonight's Promotion: Wet Wednesday / SantaCon - Fans 21+ can enjoy $1 Beer PLUS all fans are encouraged to dress as Santa, Mrs. Claus, or an elf! We'll award great prizes to some of the best-dressed.
Scouting the Road Warriors: Dean Stork's club ran its unbeaten in regulation streak to six straight games yesterday morning with a 2-1 overtime win in Toledo and now ranks 2nd in the East Division standings. With Vinny Saponari still in the AHL, Kyle Jean and Michael St. Croix have been among the most dangerous offensive weapons for Greenville. Jean has collected 14 points (8g, 6a) in 14 games while St. Croix, who tallied the game winner against Cincy last week, also has 14 tallies (3g, 11a) in 18 contests. Goaltender Jason Missiaen has enjoyed two 40+ save performances in his last three games to lead the Road Warriors in net with a 4-4-0-1 record and a 3.17 goals-against average.
Last Time Out: Thanks in part to a late first period outburst, the Cyclones cruised past the Gladiators by a 4-2 final score in front of 7,535 at Gwinnett Center last Saturday night. David MacDonald enjoyed a multi-point game while Chris Reed notched his first goal of the season in the triumph.
Moving Up the Charts: Cincy goaltender Rob Madore is continuing his climb up the Cyclones' all-time games played list. Upon his next start, Madore will play in his 47th game in a Cyclones jersey, passing 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Jeremy Smith and Todd MacDonald for 10th all-time. While in the Queen City, Madore has earned a 22-16-4 record.
Spreading the Wealth: The Cyclones have been far from a "one-man team" this season. In fact, of their nine victories, seven different players have notched the game-winning goal. Byron Froese and Stephan Vigier are tied for the team lead in that category, with two apiece.
