
K-Wings to Celebrate Summertime in December

KALAMAZOO- Don't tell the Kalamazoo Wings it's too cold to go to the beach. The K-Wings, who will return home for two games this weekend, will be celebrating summer fun during both games.
The K-Wings will return home this Friday, December 19th with a 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Fort Wayne Komets on a 3, 2, 1 Countdown to Fun!, featuring $3 beer, $2 Pepsi products and $1 hot dogs. Friday night will also be Summertime Fun in the Snow. The K-Wings are planning plenty of zany intermission and concourse activities based on summertime activities.
Prior to Friday's night's game, the K-Wings will honor the second recipient of the Al Genovy Ambassador Award.
The Ambassador Award is named after Al Genovy, who was a pillar in the southwest Michigan community since coming to the area to play for the K-Wings in 1974.
Genovy, who passed away in February 2011, played for the K-Wings from 1974-78 and also served as an assistant coach for the team from 1974-76.
Following his retirement from hockey, Genovy contributed to the growth of the sport of hockey primarily by coaching and working with youth players.
On Saturday, December 20th, the K-Wings will host the Toledo Walleye on Swimsuit Snow Angel Night. Any fan that wears their swimsuit to the game will receive a ticket for $11.
Tickets for all K-Wings home games are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster locations, including www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 745-3000.
Fans that plan on attending multiple games can avoid service fees plus enjoy a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 12, 24 or 36-game flexi-plan. These plans along with group (15 or more people) ticket packages may be ordered through the K-Wings front office by calling (269) 743-6011.
