Bulls Win Fifth Straight, Shutting Out Buffalo, 7-0

Durham, NC - Cole Wilcox threw seven scoreless innings to earn his first Triple-A victory, leading Durham to its fifth straight win 7-0 over the Buffalo Bisons at the DBAP on Friday night.

Wilcox (W, 1-2) permitted just five hits and two walks over his fourth start for the Bulls (28-27). Wilcox did not face any high-tension moments, needing 93 pitches to complete seven innings.

Durham went ahead of Buffalo (21-34) 1-0 in the second inning on a bloop double by Bob Seymour to score Ronny Simon. The Bulls broke free with five runs in the fourth. Kenny Piper singled home a run, followed by a two-run double by Jake Mangum down the right field line.

Osleivis Basabe and Mangum each had three of Durham's 15 hits.

Michael Gomes tossed a perfect eighth inning, fanning the side. Mason Montgomery fanned and walked two in the ninth to close out Durham's sixth shutout of the season.

Joe Rock (5-6, 4.47) is slated to oppose Buffalo's James Kaprielian (1-3, 6.94) at 6:35 PM ET on Saturday night.
