Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (18-25-1-6) wrap up their two-game set against the Idaho Steelheads (32-13-1-4), tonight, at CenturyLink Arena. This is the fourth of eight meetings between the two clubs this season, with the Bulls trailing in the season series 1-2-0-0.
Last night, the Bulls couldn't overcome a strong second period from the Steelheads, losing 3-2. The Bulls got on the board early in the first period, receiving a goal from Peter Sivak, who received assists from Cody Carlson and Jonathan Lessard. Idaho came back with three consecutive goals in the second period. In the third, the Bulls mounted a comeback, out-shooting the Steelheads 20-4. They got a goal from Jordan Morrison with assists from Christian Ouellet and Sebastien Trudeau to bring the deficit to just one, at a score of 3-2, but couldn't tally another. San Francisco held the edge in shots for the game, 37-33.
Tonight the Bulls will look to split this two-game set with Idaho, and even up the season series. They will be without Marek Viedensky, who was reassigned to Worcester. Meanwhile, Morrison continues to be a good scoring option that opposing teams have to worry about, notching his 14th goal in last night's game, the third most on the team. His 30 points also ranks him tied for third on the team.
Idaho remains in third place in the Western Conference with 69 points. They have pulled to within five points of the second place Ontario Reign, and extended their lead to 12 points over the Stockton Thunder. The San Francisco Bulls sit in eighth place with 43 points, just two points behind the Utah Grizzlies.
After tonight's game in Idaho the Bulls return to California to take on the Stockton Thunder this Saturday in Stockton.
