Bullpen Shines in Win over RubberDucks

The struggling Erie SeaWolves bullpen put together a terrific performance this afternoon by allowing one run in eight innings as Erie defeated the Akron RubberDucks 4-2 in front of 5,717 fans at Canal Park.

Erie (32-43), which earned the series split with Akron (45-33) and snapped a five-game losing streak, returns home Thursday for an eight-game homestand. It starts with four games against Trenton.

SeaWolves starting pitcher Warwick Saupold left after one inning with an injury and the game tied 1-1. Ryan Robowski, Slade Smith, Will Startup, Angel Nesbitt and Jose Valdez combined to allow one run over the final eight innings to secure the win.

Dean Green had a two-run single for Erie, while Corey Jones and Steven Moya each drove in one run.
