New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Fisher Cats return home on Thursday to open a five-game series with the New Britain Rock Cats, the Minnesota Twins' Double-A affiliate. The teams will play five games in four days in order to make up a game postponed earlier in the season.
OPPONENT
New Britain is currently 40-33 and has climbed to 3rd place in the Eastern Division thanks to an 11-game winning streak that ended on Monday night. This season, the Rock Cats are 4-4 against New Hampshire.
NEW BRITAIN ROCK CATS PROSPECTS
Taylor Rogers (LHP) - Last year Rogers led the Florida State League in complete games and shutouts. He ranked second in ERA and third in wins. This year in Double-A New Britain, he is 6-4 with a 4.16 ERA and 64 strikeouts. Against the Fisher Cats this year, Rogers has pitched in one game for 6 innings giving up 9 hits and three walks while striking out six. Kennys Vargas (1B) - Vargas was recently selected to play in the Futures Game this July during the MLB All-Star Break. He is currently tied for 2nd in the Eastern League with 57 runs batted in. This season against New Hampshire he has 9 hits, 4 runs, 6 RBI, and 3 walks with a .300 AVG.

Thursday, June 26: Post-game Atlas Fireworks show, presented by Great Wolf Lodge. Friday, June 27: Doubleheader beginning at 6:05 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a free Fisher Cats Poster, courtesy of Spectrum Marketing. Plus, local Girl Scout Troops and athletic teams will have a sleepover on the field and watch a movie on the videoboard after the game. Saturday, June 28: Post-game Atlas Fireworks show, presented by AutoFair. It's also Faith & Family Night at the ballpark where fans came come together and talk about their faith and baseball with Fisher Cats players. Sunday, June 29: The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Fisher Cats Hat, courtesy of FairPoint Communications. After the game kids run the bases presented by Buyers Beware.
