
Bullpen leads Pigs to win

(Moosic, PA) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (14-11) bullpen tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings on Tuesday night to lead the team to a 5-2 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (16-7).
Lehigh Valley wasted no time getting after the RailRiders as they scored four runs in the top of the first inning against Nick Green (0-1). C.J. Chatham and Rafael Marchan each hit RBI singles before Ruben Tejada hit a two-run single to score them both in the inning.
Cristopher Sanchez was carrying his momentum from his previous start as he did not allow a hit over ten innings. Trey Amburgey hit a single with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning. Armando Alvarez hit a two-run double to score Amburgey and Derek Dietrich to cut the Pigs lead in half, 4-2. Sanchez left the game with two outs in the inning and Bryan Mitchell (2-0) entered the game to pitch in relief.
Mitchell pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings before turning things over to Mauricio Llovera. Lehigh Valley scored another run in the top of the sixth inning when Edgar Cabral scored on a wild pitch by former Phillies minor leaguer Addison Russ.
Neftali Feliz pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of Llovera and J.D. Hammer earned his first save of the season by pitching a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.
The IronPigs and RailRiders play at 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday evening at PNC Field.
