
Bullies Training Camp Underway

Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, officially opened training camp this afternoon with introductory meetings and physicals at Boardwalk Hall. The Bullies will hit the ice for the first time under new Head Coach Matt Thomas at 10:30AM tomorrow at Flyers SkateZone in Atlantic City.
Seven returnees from the 2003-04 squad that went 47-19-6 and broke seven team records headlines the Bullies camp roster of 26 players. Those returnees include forwards Luke Curtin, Paul Falco, Scott Horvath, and Josh Prudden; defensemen Dave Reid and Ian Walterson; and goaltender Jake Moreland.
Including Falco, 12 rookies will commence at least the beginning of their professional careers in Atlantic City, topping the 11 that were in training camp last year. The rookies include forwards Paul Caponigri, Derek Edwardson, Dustan Heintz, Rob McFeeters, Derrick McIver, Kelsey Muench, Geoff Rollins, and Brett Smith; and defensemen Eric Nelson, James Sanford, and Ben Wallace.
The Bullies off-season acquisitions include forward Jeff Bateman who had 31 points last year for defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Idaho, forward Brad Both who has a total of 1,014 penalty minutes in four professional seasons, defenseman Dan Peters who spent three years with the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League from 2000-03, and goaltender Adam Munro who started 7 games last year for the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks. Forwards Fraser Clair and Gray Shaneberger also signed free agent deals with the Bullies over the summer.
Defenseman Kevin Clauson and goaltender John Larnerd are attending training camp on tryout agreements.
Individual game tickets for the 2004-05 season are currently on sale and can be purchased anytime by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-736-1420 or by visiting the Boardwalk Hall box office Monday-Saturday from 11AM-5PM.
The Bullies and Vineland Ice Arena will be hosting an intra-squad scrimmage at 6:30PM on Saturday, October 9. Tickets for this event are only $6 and can be purchased by calling a Bullies Customer Service Representative at (609) 348-7825, or by calling the Vineland Ice Arena at (856) 691-2222. Full season ticket holders will receive admission free of charge.
