Cleveland, OH - The Hamilton Bulldogs blanked the Lake Erie Monsters 4-0 on Friday night. Ben Maxwell's goal in the first period proved to be the game-winner while Curtis Sanford stopped all 16 shots he faced and Cedrick Desjardins stopped all eight shots that came his way.

The Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 10:27 of the first frame. Brock Trotter received a pass from Andre Benoit before feeding a pass over to Maxwell. Maxwell released a shot that sailed over the right shoulder of Lake Erie starting goaltender Tyler Weiman and into the back of the net. The goal was not initially called but following a stoppage in play, the referee talked to the goal judge behind the net and declared that the shot went in the net. The ‘Dogs added their second goal of the period at 15:44. P.K. Subban hammered a shot from the blue line that was saved by Weiman. Frederic St. Denis grabbed the loose rebound before whacking the puck past Weiman.

Hamilton took a 3-0 lead 22 seconds into of the middle stanza. Following the conclusion of a power play, Grant Stevenson dished the puck to Mathieu Carle, who had skated towards the net from the blue line. Carle wristed a shot over the left shoulder of Weiman and into the top of the net. Mike Glumac added the ‘Dogs fourth goal at 16:19.
