Bulldogs Shutout by Stars

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release


Des Moines, IA - Bulldogs goaltender Jeff DesLauriers made 36 saves, but it was not enough as Hamilton was shutout by the Iowa Stars 1-0 on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The Bulldogs have now lost three straight games, and their record falls to 7-10-0-1.

Stars goaltender Mike Smith stopped all 34 shots he faced and was named the game's first star. The Bulldogs directed a season-high 17 shots at Smith during the second period.

Hamilton held the edge in shots by a margin of 11-9 after a scoreless first period.

Stars forward Junior Lessard scored the only goal of the game at the 2:50 mark of the second period when he fired a low shot from in close that beat DesLauriers with the Stars on the power play.

There were no goals scored in the third period, with Iowa out shooting Hamilton 12-6.

Hamilton was 0 for 6 on the power play, while Iowa went 1 for 3 with the man-advantage

The Bulldogs next action will take place on Tuesday, November 22, when they face the Omaha Knights for the second time this season at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. Game time is 8:00 p.m.

The Bulldogs next home game will take place on Friday, November 25, when the Cleveland Barons visit Copps Coliseum for the third time this season.
