
Scooter To Be A Pirate

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that forward Scooter Smith has signed a player tryout agreement with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League. In a separate move, the Storm added forward Rick Judson for tonight's game. Biographies listed on page 2.
Smith, the native of Calgary, Alberta, is currently third in the ECHL in scoring with 19 points (7g, 12a). He has scored two game winning goals this year. Scooter has played 3 games in the American Hockey League with Syracuse back in 2002-03 with an assist. Portland plays home tonight against the Providence Bruins, and Sunday against the Hartford Wolfpack. On Wednesday, the Pirates host Manchester.
Judson, a native of Toledo, is the Storm's all-time leader in goals, assists, games played and points. Rick has played the last two seasons with the Storm, and became Toledo's all-time goal scoring leader on February 25, 2005. He has played in 452 games in a Storm uniform, scoring 197 goals and adding 244 assists.
Tonight the Storm takes on the Johnstown Chiefs at the Toledo Sports Arena.
