WILKES-BARRE, PA - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the return of all-star defenseman Bruno Gervais from the big club. Gervais has joined the Sound Tigers in time for tonight's 7:05 p.m. road game versus the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Gervais, who has been named to the Canadian Team for the 2006 Rbk AHL All-Star Classic, has one assist and four penalty minutes in nine NHL games with the Islanders and leads the Sound Tigers and is tied for the lead among all AHL defensemen with 13 goals this season. He also has 14 assists, 27 points and 50 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Sound Tigers this season.
The Sound Tigers will visit Wilkes-Barre/Scranton again this Wednesday, January 25th at 7:05 p.m. and the Providence Bruins this coming Friday, January 27th at 7:05 p.m. before returning to Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard to host the Philadelphia Phantoms next Saturday, January 28th at 7:05 p.m. on Wade Dubielewicz Bobblehead giveaway night and the Syracuse Crunch next Sunday, January 29th at 4:05 p.m. on Islanders 25th Anniversary puck giveaway night.
