Hershey Bears News Release

Chris Bourque records five points with a goal and four assists as the BEARS pounded the Pirates 7-3 Saturday night.

Bourque is believed to be the first player since Al Conroy during the 1992-93 season to record five points in a single game. Conroy scored three goals and added two assists in a 5-2 victory over the New Haven Senators on December 18, 1992. Boyd Kane scored his 12th goal of the season, Jakub Klepis notched three points and Mike Green scored his fourth of the season to pace the offense. Goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck picked up his eighth win of the season against his former team, making 21 saves. The BEARS fired a season high 54 shots on goal in the game.

The win was the 25th of the season for HERSHEY, who now trail first place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton by nine points in the East Division race. The Penguins lost 7-0 to Bridgeport Saturday night, and are off on Sunday.

The BEARS host the Pirates Sunday afternoon in the second game of the two-game weekend series. Face-off is set for 5:00 p.m. Doors will open early for the game at 2:45 p.m., with the Broncos/Steelers AFC Championship game on the GIANT Center videoboard. Tickets remain for the game at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
