Winnipeg, MB - The Hamilton Bulldogs dropped their second decision in as many nights to the Manitoba Moose as they were beaten 4-1 on Saturday night at the MTS Centre. The Bulldogs record now stands at 17-27-0-2.
Manitoba opened the scoring at the 10:30 mark of the first period when Alexandre Bolduc fired a low shot from the slot past Hamilton goaltender Yann Danis. Jesse Shultz then gave the Moose a 2-0 lead with Manitoba enjoying a two-man advantage at 12:08. Shultz took a pass from Brett Skinner and rifled a one-time shot from the bottom of the left face-off circle behind Danis.
Ryan Bayda put the Moose ahead by three goals at 9:11 of the second period when he deflected a centering pass from Jason Jaffray into the top of the net. With 19 seconds remaining in the middle stanza, Jaffray made a cross-ice pass to Lee Goren, who one-timed the puck by Danis to make the score 4-0.
The Bulldogs ended Manitoba goaltender Wade Flaherty's shutout bid at 12:18 of the third period as Jean-Francois Jacques was credited with his team-leading 13th goal of the season. Mathieu Roy and Francis Lemieux earned the assists.
Danis blocked 34 shots and suffered the loss, while Flaherty made 24 saves to earn the victory.
