Brule, Perrin Spark Bears 2-1 Victory over Syracuse

Steve Brule scored with 4:52 remaining in the third period to give the HERSHEY BEARS a 2-1 victory over the Syracuse Crunch at the Onondaga County War Memorial. Peter Budaj faced 40 shots and stopped 39 of them for the victory, his eleventh of the season.

The BEARS began the second half the same way they began the season, against the Syracuse Crunch. The BEARS came away with a tie the first game of the season, but get two points to start the second half, with a 2-1 victory over the Crunch. Eric Perrin scored just 5:24 into the first period. The goal was assisted by Steve Brule. HERSHEY would go into the first intermission with a 1-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, Don MacLean would get Syracuse on the board with a power-play goal at 9:17 of the third period. It was Syracuse's seventh power-play opportunity of the night. The score would remain tied 1-1 until Brule would put the BEARS ahead for good with his goal with 4:52 remaining in the game. The tally was assisted by Sheldon Keefe and Eric Perrin. Perrin and Brule lead the team with 14 goals apiece and they each had two points on the night. The final score, in favor of the BEARS, was 2-1. HERSHEY (18-13-7-3) finishes their five-game road trip with a 2-1-2 record.

The BEARS return home to GIANT Center with two games this weekend as they face the Albany River Rats on Saturday (7:00 pm) and the Binghamton Senators on Sunday (5:00 pm).
