Worcester IceCats Defenseman Recalled

WORCESTER, MA – St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that the St. Louis Blues have recalled defenseman Mike Stuart from the IceCats.

An October 7th, 2002 free agent signing by St. Louis, Stuart has skated in 23 games with Worcester this season, recording 3 assists and 16 penalty minutes: 23(0/3/3)16. The 23 year old made his NHL debut with the Blues on October 24th in Calgary after being recalled on October 20th.

He participated in 41 games with the IceCats last year and 19 with the club's ECHL affiliate, the Peoria (IL) Rivermen. His 2002-2003 IceCats totals reflect one goal and five assists: 41(1/5/6).

Stuart was named the IceCats 2002-2003 Seven Hills 7th Player of the Year.

The IceCats are in Houston tonight and return to Worcester's Centrum Centre for a 7:05 face-off with the Springfield Falcons on Wednesday, January 14th. All tickets are just $10.
