February 6, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Former Cincinnati Cyclones goaltender Brian Foster became the ninth Cyclone alumnus to play in the National Hockey League when he made his debut with the Florida Panthers in a 5-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday night.
Foster, who was selected by Florida in the fifth round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, made one save on one shot in 4:52 of ice time. Ironically, his NHL debut also fell on his 25th birthday. With the Cyclones in 2011-12, Foster has amassed an impressive 8-1-0-1 record with a 2.47 goals-against average. He has also logged 11 games with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) this year, going 4-6-0 with a 3.55 goals-against average.
Foster becomes the ninth former Cyclones player to skate in an NHL game, and the third this season. Ryan Russell (2007-08), Frederic St. Denis (2009-09), Chris Mueller (2009-10), Greg Stewart (2006-07), David Desharnais (2007-08), J.T. Wyman (2008-09), Mark Dekanich (2009-10) and Cedrick Desjardins (2006-08) are the other eight.
The Cyclones will continue their month-opening home stand with another battle against the Toledo Walleye at U.S. Bank Arena on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30pm. It will be another Wet Wednesday, where fans 21+ can enjoy $1 PBR and Miller High Life all night long! Plus, another "Pucks N Pinot" pre game wine tasting event is available for purchase!
