Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter announced Monday morning that the Idaho Steelheads have acquired forward Aaron Lewicki from the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations.

Lewicki (pronounced loo-WICK-ee) is expected to join the Steelheads in time for Wednesday's game against the Alaska Aces at CenturyLink Arena in Boise.

The 24-year-old right wing from Livonia, Michigan, appeared in one game with Reading after being acquired via trade from the Toledo Walleye. He had nine goals in 38 games with the Walleye prior to the trade and also appeared in one game with the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Lewicki was named the 2010-11 Rookie of the Year in the Central Hockey League after tallying 52 points (23 goals, 29 assists) in 62 games with the Rio Grande Valley Bees. He was also voted onto the 2011 CHL All Star team.

Steelhead defenseman Matt Case was a college teammate of Lewicki at Ferris State. Lewicki also teamed up with former Steelheads Mark Bomersback, Jeremy Scherlinck and Adam Welch in college. In four seasons at Ferris State, Lewicki netted 35 goals in 148 games.

Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim's Cascade Chips with each ticket.
