Wranglers Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

February 6, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - To honor the women, men and families who have battled breast cancer, the Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that the team will don vintage black and pink Wranglers jerseys to mark the return of "Pink in the Rink" on Friday, Feb. 10. With jersey auctions and ticket proceeds benefitting the St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Health Foundation and Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southern Nevada, the Wranglers are joining local partners in the fight against breast cancer.

Players will wear a specialty pink jersey for the Feb. 10 game against the Bakersfield Condors at 7:05 p.m., and a silent auction of the autographed, game-worn jerseys will take place on the Orleans Arena concourse. Proceeds from the auction will benefit breast cancer research, and one lucky fan will win a free signed pink jersey off a player's back during the second intermission. Fans are also encouraged to wear pink to help "pink out the rink" during the game.

"Athletes have such a different platform to be able to raise awareness, and we have found an incredible generosity in local sports," Stephanie Kirby, Executive Director for Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Southern Nevada, said. "We're grateful for this new relationship with the Wranglers and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future."

2011-12 season seat packages, starting at $30, are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. Individual tickets to Wranglers games are available by phone at (702) 284-7777, and can be purchased in person at all Coast Casino properties, Town Square shopping center or online at www.orleansarena.com. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
