Walleye Notes
- Past Week Performance: Toledo finished this past week with a 1-1-1-0 record, collecting three of a possible six points. Toledo started the week with a 7-6 overtime loss in Cincinnati despite both Kyle Rogers and Harrison Reed collecting two goals. Friday night, Toledo's offense continued to stay hot in a 5-4 win at Kalamazoo. Paul Zanette led the way for Toledo with a goal and three assists. Saturday night, the Walleye were unable to solve Kalamazoo in a 4-0 loss.
- Packing the House! Toledo continues to lead the ECHL in total attendance (141,271) and also in average attendance (5,886). During this past week, the Walleye surpassed the mark of 200,000 total tickets sold for the 2011-12 season. It's the third straight year that the Walleye have hit that mark.
- One of the Tops! Rookie forward Joey Martin continues to shine for the Walleye. His 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) have him eighth among all first-year ECHL players. Defenseman Bryan Rufenach is third among all ECHL defenseman in goals with 11 on the season. Forward Kyle Rogers leads Toledo in scoring this year with 15 goals and 15 assists. Rogers is also the team leader in game-winning goals with three.
- Gametime: Toledo is about to embark on a busy week with four games in five days starting Wednesday night in Cincinnati. Toledo will play the Cyclones three times this week, including Saturday and Sunday at the Huntington Center. Toledo is 2-4-1 this season against their southern Ohio rivals. The lone game this week not against the Cyclones is Friday night in Wheeling. Toledo is 1-2-1 against the Nailers so far this season.
- Promotions: This Saturday night is "American Cancer Society Awareness Night" and it will also feature cast members from the Broadway Musical "Jersey Boys" singing the National Anthem prior to puck drop. Sunday afternoon is "Kids Day" with the Walleye, with Design a Sign and post-game open skate! Hall-of-Famer and Hockey Legend Ted Lindsay will be in the Huntington Center signing FREE autographs during each intermission!
