(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Jordan Edgerton went 4-for-4 and the Rome Braves collected 13 hits on their way to a 5-2 win over the Lexington Legends Thursday night.

The Legends opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Carlos Garcia reached first on an infield hit and then stole second base, his 12th steal of the season. Garcia went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Elier Hernandez.

Rome tied the score in the third when Keith Curcio singled, stole second, went to third on a single by Edgerton and scored when Tanner Krietemeier grounded into a force play at second base.

The Legends broke the tie with a run in the fifth inning. With one out, Humberto Arteaga reached first on an infield hit, and moved to second on a throwing error by shortstop Ozzie Albies, who had fielded Arteaga's grounder. Alfredo Escalera walked, and Albies committed another throwing error after fielding a grounder hit by Hernandez, allowing Arteaga to score.

A two-run sixth inning put Rome in front for good. With one out, Omar Obregon singled. After Joseph Daris struck out for the second out, Albies hit a grounder to Garcia, the third baseman, who threw past second for an error while attempting to get a forceout. Curcio followed with his third hit of the game, scoring Obregon, and Edgerton lined a single to left field, scoring Albies and putting Rome ahead 3-2.

The Braves added a run in the eighth on Edgerton's RBI single, and another in the ninth on a two-out walk to Tanner Murphy and a triple by Obregon.

Rome starter Alec Grosser (1-0) worked the first five innings and got the win. Colin Rodgers (1-2), who relieved starter Corey Ray in the fifth inning, took the loss.

The Legends open a four-game series in Asheville Friday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
