Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - A four point effort by Greg Hogeboom extended the Brahmas winning streak to four games as the Brahmas defeated the Odessa Jackalopes 5-1 at the NYTEX Sports Centre in front of a sold out crowd.
The Texas powerplay has been on a recent surge, and Friday night wasn't any different as Greg Hogeboom netted the 5th powerplay goal in four games with only four seconds left in the man advantage. The goal marked Hogeboom's 22nd of the season. The score remained the sole tally in the opening period.
The powerplay came through once again for the Brahmas when Jason Deitsch found the puck in traffic and buried it for a 2-0 lead. A goalie change followed shortly thereafter, ending Michel Robinson's night after facing 19 shots. Chad Woollard entered the game riding a five game goal scoring streak and extended the streak with his 29th goal of the year off an offensive rush. Assists were from Hogeboom and Sean Hurley.
Tyler Allen increased the lead with a goal of his own coming off the first shot in the third period at the :45 second marker. Hogeboom netted his second of the game when a breakaway developed beating David McKee in net. The Odessa powerplay was finally able to break Wayne Savage's shutout bid when Mike Ramsay collected his team leading 25th goal. The Brahmas went 2-4 on the powerplay and Savage had 34 saves in net for his 14th win of the year.
Texas will continue their three game homestand tomorrow night against Allen with a 7:30 pm start. On Monday, February 21 the Brahmas have a game against the Wichita Thunder at a special "President's Day" time, 6 pm.
