Dayton Gems and Destiny Salon and Spa to host Ladies' Night
February 18, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Dayton Gems News Release
DAYTON, OH - The Dayton Gems, in conjunction with Destiny Salon and Spa, will be hosting a Ladies' Night event on Tuesday, March 15, at Hara Arena.
On that night, ladies from around the Miami Valley can come to Hara Arena to learn about the fundamentals of hockey. Head coach Brian Gratz and players from the team will be in attendance for the event. Players will not only have on-ice demonstrations, but will also be talking with and answering questions for ladies off the ice as well.
In addition to the Hockey 101 lesson, ladies will also get a tour of the locker room, a free t-shirt, a bag of goodies, two tickets to the Gems game against Evansville on March 17, and much more. Light appetizers and cocktails will be available. Sundown Tan and Kendall Marketing and Solutions will also have booths set up at the event.
The deadline to signup is Monday, March 14. All ladies must be 21 years of age or older to participate and are asked to wear flats for the hockey demonstration that is taking place on the ice.
The timing couldn't be better for ladies to learn about a new sport and impress the men in their life. March 15 is the first day of March Madness for College basketball. While the guys are with their friends, watching the First Four of the NCAA Tournament, ladies can come and learn about a different sport and impress their husbands and boyfriends with their newfound knowledge.
"We are thrilled to be the title sponsor of the Gems first-ever Ladies Night event. We hope to provide women with the opportunity to learn the game of hockey directly from head coach Brian Gratz and the Gems players in a casual environment. At Destiny, we believe in partnering with local businesses as we work together to improve the quality of life in our community," said Josette Allen, owner of Destiny Salon and Spa.
Tickets for the event are $20 for season ticket holders and $25 for non-season ticket holders. Order forms are available at Destiny Salon and Spa and SunDown Tan. Those interested can also go online to daytongems.com and sign up.
To help promote the event, players from the Dayton Gems will be at Destiny Salon and Spa in North Clayton on Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 6-8 p.m.
Players will be signing autographs and talking to fans and customers in attendance.
The Kettering Medical Center is proud to be the official title sponsor of the Gems for the 2010-11 season.
