Green Bay Rockers News Release

Kalamazoo, MI - On a night full of errors and mishaps, Green Bay walked to victory in the 11th inning and secured back to back wins for the first time this season.

The Booyah struck immediately in the top of the first inning when Matt McDonald raced home after Justin Greene stole second base. Then in the second, Green Bay scored three runs off Kalamazoo starter Brayden Nelson. The Booyah were helped in the run department by six different Growlers errors on the evening.

In the 11th frame, with the bases loaded, Mike Ferri stepped in for the fifth time on the night. The first pitch from Max Bain he saw was a strike, but Ferri remained patient. After he drew the count even at one a piece, Ferri watched three consecutive balls, bringing in Matt McDonald and scoring what would be the winning run.

In the bottom of the 11th on the mound, Sam Mathews came in with a runner on second base. Mathews proceeded to pick up the first two outs of the inning, striking out Jake Hoover for out number two. After Mathews plunked Brooks Coetzee, field manager Tom Carty turned to Logan Lee for the final out. With runners on first and second, Lee got DH Noah Marcoux to roll one to Ty Herrenbruck to record the final out and give Green Bay a 5-4 victory.

Green Bay picks back up tomorrow night in Kalamazoo at 7:05 ET. Will Saxton touches the mound for the first time this season for the Booyah.
