
Boomers Rained out Again

O'FALLON, Mo. - For the third time this season and the second time this week, the Schaumburg Boomers have been rained out.
Saturday night's scheduled contest between the Boomers and River City Rascals in suburban St. Louis was postponed due to heavy rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday with two seven inning contest beginning at 4:05 p.m. The three game series is the final series of the year between the two teams in Missouri. Schaumburg has already played three doubleheaders this season, splitting all three for an even 3-3 record. The Boomers are 4-4 all-time in doubleheaders and have two scheduled twinbills remaining in 2013 in addition to Sunday.
Schaumburg (15-11) will send RHP Chris Phelan (2-0, 2.66) to the hill in the first contest with RHP Mike Giovenco (1-3, 4.65) starting in the second contest. River City will counter with RHP Brett Harman (0-2, 2.92) and RHP Justin Sarratt (1-2, 4.77).
