LOOK BACK AT LAST GAME: Catcher John Nester had three hits but the Evansville Ot- ters lost the series opener at the Washington Wild Things 6-1 on Friday night. Evansville fell behind 4-0 as Washington scored three runs in the first and added an- other run in the second. Down 4-0, Evansville was unable to score against starter Shawn Smith until the fifth in- ning. Nester hit a one out triple down the right field line and scored on the RBI groundout from Ryan Kresky.

Evansville would threaten over the next few innings but failed to score. Washington added back to back home runs in the seventh inning to seal the five run series opening victory against the Evansville Otters.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING: Outfielder Nick Schwaner had one hit last night, extending his hitting streak to nine games. Clark added two hits in the loss, bringing his hitting streak to eight games.Outfielder C.J. Henry failed to reach base last night, ending his 19 game on base streak.

WHAT'S AT STAKE? Evansville trails the Normal CornBelters (17-8) by a game for best record in the Frontier League. With a loss today. Evansville would be tied for first place in the East Division. The Otters are 2-1 after losing the first game of a series.
