BlueClaws Welcome Olympians to June 12th Game

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws will welcome several Olympians to FirstEnergy Park on Tuesday, June 12th as part of Olympics Night, including a Gold Medal winner.

Among the Olympians who will be at that night's BlueClaws game:

Lesley Bush: The Princeton native was the 1964 Olympic Gold Medalist in Platform Diving in Tokyo.

David Bush: Lesley's brother and fellow diver competed in the 1972 Olympics in Munich.

Barbara Friedrich Parcinski: The Spring Lake Heights native competed in the Javelin at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City. She was a gold medalist in the 1967 Pan American Games (just 2 mos. after graduation from Manasquan HS).

Pam Boyd Petroski: The Toms River native was on the 1984 US Olympic team in Los Angeles, finishing fourth in Team Handball.

Denise O'Connor: The Lakewood native was a two-time Olympian (1964 in Tokyo and 1976 in Montreal) in Fencing.

Jesse Goldstein: The Toms River native was selected for the 1980 US Olympic Fencing team in Moscow but did not compete due to the US boycott. He was a silver medalist in the 1979 Pan-Am Games.

Rich Kenah: The Wall Township native competed in the 800 meters in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. He was a bronze medalist in both the World Indoor and Outdoor Track Championships.

Elliott Denman: The West Long Branch Native was a 1956 Olympian in Melbourne competing in the 50k Walk.

Pam Golding: The Manahawkin native was a member of the first US Olympic Rowing team in 1976 in Montreal, which placed sixth in the fours.

Norman Tate: Tate, from Voorhees, competed in the Triple Jump in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City and was a US Champion in both the long jump and triple jump.

Janice Harris: Harris, from Brick, represents her husband George, a two-time Pan-American Gold Medalist who competed on the first Olympic Judo team in 1964 in Tokyo.

Ringo Adamson: Now the head track and field coach at Rowan University, Adamson competed in the marathon in both 1984 in Los Angeles and 1988 in Seoul representing Jamaica.

Dawn Bowles-Fitch: From Neptune, NJ, Bowles-Fitch competed in the 1991 Pan American games and was an Olympic trials semi-finalist in 1988 in the 100 meter hurdles. She now coaches at Neptune High School, where she was a star athlete.

Tom Wilkens: The Middletown native swam in Sydney in 2000 and won the bronze medal in the 200 meter individual medley while also serving as a co-captain of the US Olympic Team. He swam at Christian Brothers Academy and Stanford University.

The Olympians will take part in an on-field presentation before the game and sign autographs for fans. The event is part of the USOC's "Walk to London" tour.

"2012 is an Olympic year and we're honored to have all of these Olympians at a BlueClaws game," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "This will be a truly special experience for our fans as we celebrate the great local history of the Olympic Games."

Also at the game, a Senior Day Tuesday, seniors will eat free thanks to TD Bank and the first 2,000 fans will receive a BlueClaws Umbrella thanks to Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Additionally, Chase and Derby, the Trenton Thunder bat dogs, will be at this game entertaining fans.
