June 5, 2012 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Rome Emperors News Release
Rome, GA - Eric Krupa, president of the South Atlantic League, has announced the rosters for the 53rd Annual SAL All-Star Game, scheduled to be played on June 19, 2012, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, in Charleston, South Carolina, home of the Charleston RiverDogs.
The Rome Braves have two representatives, pitchers Navery Moore and David Filak. In the first half of the season Moore is 3-2 with a 3.25 ERA. In 52.1 innings pitched he has struck out 44 and given up just 19 earned runs. Filak is 2-5 but his record doesn't indicate his effectiveness so far this season. In 55 innings pitched, Filak has struck out 63 and walked 25 hitters.
Both the Northern and Southern division teams will be represented by 26 players, selected by the votes of the team's managers and coaching staffs, local media and front office executives. Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park will be hosting its fourth SAL All-Star game. The last time the All-Star Game was held in Charleston was in 2004, when the Southern Division defeated the Northern Division 4-2.. The annual SAL All-Star Game dates to 1960, when the All-Stars defeated the Salisbury club, 6-2, in Newton, NC.
The Braves begin a six game homestand tonight at State Mutual Stadium. For ticket information call the Rome Braves ticket office at 706-378-5144 or purchase tickets online at wwww.romebraves.com.
