LAKEWOOD, NJ - The BlueClaws will be hosting their annual Military Appreciation Night and Troop Supply Drive on Tuesday, June 15th, at their 7:05 pm game.

Donations will be collected in front of the ballpark before the game to benefit US troops currently stationed overseas.

"Our troops risk their lives on a daily basis to make this country safe," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "It's our pleasure to host Military Appreciation Night and the Troop Supply Drive so our fans can give back to those that fight daily for our freedom at home."

As in years past, boxes will be set up in the front of the ballpark and fans are encouraged to donate razors, snacks, baby wipes, shampoo, soap, non-chocolate candies and sweets, sun block with SPF 40+, lip balm, writing utensils, silly string, deodorant, tissues, q-tips, white socks, batteries, insect repellant, and flashlights. This supply drive is in conjunction with the Monmouth-Ocean Central Labor Council Military Committee, Monmouth-Ocean Building Trade Council, National Guard, Toms River Armory, A.R.M.S, Troop Clothing Drive, and IBEW Local 400 Military Committee.

BlueClaws players and coaches will be wearing special camouflage jerseys.

The BlueClaws are once again offering a Military Discount, with game tickets of $7 for military personnel and their families when they bring their military ID to the box office. The offer is valid for military personnel and three guests at all 2010 BlueClaws home games.

The BlueClaws will also continue to collect gently used cell phones as part of the Cell Phones for Soldiers program. Bring your used cell phone to the NJR Information Booth behind home plate during any BlueClaws game to donate.

Ceremonies for the 7:05 p.m. game with the Lexington Legends (Houston Astros) will begin at approximately 6:15.

The BlueClaws are in their 10th season of providing family fun and entertainment at the Jersey Shore. They have led both New Jersey and the South Atlantic League in attendance in each year of existence.

Tickets for all remaining 2010 home games are available by calling 732-901-7000 or online at BlueClaws.com.
