Rome, GA - The Augusta Green Jackets defeated the Rome Braves 7-6 in front of 2,398 fans at State Mutual Stadium. Rome drops to 22-30 on the season.

The first run of the game came in the second inning when Augusta scored on a force out to bring home Christopher Dominguez. The Green Jackets led off the fourth with a home run from Dominguez (9) for the 2-0 score. They would add another run on an Ydwin Villegas RBI single to extend their lead to 3-0.

Rome came back in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 3-3 on a double from Jace Whitmer to score Jordan Kreke followed by a Braeden Schlehuber single to plate Christian Bethancourt and Whitmer. The Braves would take the lead in the fifth inning on a Robert Hefflinger double to right to score Mycal Jones for the 4-3 lead.

Augusta took back the lead in the sixth with an RBI single by Ryan Lollis followed by a sacrifice fly RBI by Ryan Cavan to make the score 5-4. Rome battled back with two runs to take the lead in the bottom half of the sixth on a Whitmer (1) home run and an RBI single from Kyle Rose to plate Chris Curley for the 6-5 advantage.

The Green Jackets took the lead for good after scoring two runs in the eighth inning for the 7-6 final.

Jose Castilla (2-0) picks up the win for Augusta while Rome's Julio Surinach (0-2) gets the loss. Devan Kline earns his third save of the year for the Green Jackets.
